Hey everyone!
I’m Saira, and I’m a sophomore who somehow got sucked into the world of AI. Honestly, it started because my dad literally won’t stop talking about new AI tools. At first I was like whatever dad, but then I actually started messing around with some of these tools and… okay fine, they’re actually pretty cool.
So I figured why not start a blog where I learn about this stuff with you guys? There’s tons of AI reviews out there but they’re all written by people who already know everything. I wanted to document what it’s actually like to try these tools for the first time when you literally have no clue what you’re doing.
What we’re going to figure out together
I’m basically going to be your guinea pig. I’ll try out different AI tools and we’ll learn together whether they’re worth the hype. I’m planning to test:
- Art generators (apparently you can just type words and get pictures?)
- Writing helpers (could be clutch for essays)
- Video editing stuff (sounds complicated but maybe it’s not?)
- Whatever random tools my dad sends me next
For each one I’ll document the whole experience – how confusing it was to set up, whether it actually worked, if it’s free, and most importantly – did I mess it up completely or actually make something cool?
Why I’m doing this (and why you should care)
Look, AI is everywhere now but I honestly don’t get most of it. Like, I know TikTok has an algorithm and Spotify knows what music I like, but how does any of that actually work? And all these new apps keep popping up that supposedly can do amazing things, but which ones are real and which ones are just trying to get downloads?
My friends are always like “oh yeah AI is so cool” but then when I ask them what they’ve actually used, they’re like “umm… ChatGPT for homework help?” Same though, because that’s literally all I’ve tried too.
I figured there’s probably other people our age who are curious about this stuff but don’t want to feel dumb asking basic questions. So we can all be confused together and hopefully figure some things out.
Plus maybe I’ll discover some tools that actually help with school or are just fun to mess around with. Or maybe I’ll find out that half of them don’t work and save us all some time.
What to expect
Fair warning – I’m probably going to mess up a lot. I might spend 20 minutes trying to figure out how to upload a file or accidentally create some really weird art. But that’s kind of the point! I want to show what it’s actually like to be a beginner with this stuff.
Each post will be super honest about what worked, what didn’t, and whether I think it’s worth trying. No pretending I know more than I do.
